President's Message 2010

President’s Message 2010

On behalf of the Executive Directors and Members, I extend a warm welcome to everyone attending our 155th edition of the Spencerville Agricultural Fair. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all the volunteers for donating their time and the many sponsors and businesses for their donations, which help to make our fair successful.
Entering my third and final year as President, I have enjoyed working with the fair board members and volunteers at various functions throughout the year.
Raised near this lovely town called “Spencerville” I fondly remember the excitement of seeing the midway rides roll into town, the fairgrounds filling with tents and the arrival of animals of all shapes and sizes. Exhibitors coming and going from the exhibit halls bringing their prize baking, flowers, arts and crafts. Gradually the grounds transformed into another world. Each year young and old alike gather from near and far to celebrate our community fair and it’s agricultural roots.
See you at the fair!

A Message From The Fair Ambassador

Since becoming the Spencerville Fair Ambassador I have learned so much. The biggest life lesson I learned, was to BELIEVE. Believe in everything you think you can accomplish, because believing will always lead you to your wildest dreams. I also learned how much planning is required to host our fun filled weekend event that so many people look forward to attending annually.
During my reign as Fair Ambassador I have met so many different people and made many new friends along the way. I have not only loved every moment of my year but I have made so many new memories. I really enjoyed my travel to Toronto, staying at the Royal York Hotel and meeting other Fair Ambassadors across Ontario.
The Spencerville Fair has always been a part of my life and now I have had the joy and experience to be involved in the fairs planning. I have been honoured this year to represent the Spencerville Agricultural Society as the 31st Fair Ambassador. I hope that everyone enjoys the tradition that has lived on in our town for 155 years, by spending the time with your family, friends and our community.

Lisa Norton
2009/2010 Spencerville Fair Ambassador
