Meritorious
Service Award

The OAAS recognizes an individual(s) who has given long-time dedicated and meritorious service to the Agricultural Society.
The award can be given to a husband and wife jointly.

It is meant to honour an individual who contributes time and energy to an Agricultural Society and whose work meets the following requirements.

Who is Eligible?

  • An individual who has made a significant contribution as a volunteer, leader or committee member to the Agricultural Society.

  • Well deserving individual without whom our societies would be lost.

The ‘Meritorious Service Award’ should not be awarded routinely to members of the Executive – i.e. at the end of a President's term.
The recipient will receive an OAAS stoned lapel pin and a personalized ‘OAAS Meritorious Service Award certificate. (If the award is given jointly to a couple – they will each receive a pin).
The certificate will be forwarded to your Society for presentation at an Agricultural Society event.
The certificate must be ordered at least four (4) weeks prior to presentation.
Each OAAS Member Society can present one (1) ‘Meritorious Service Award’ per year.

Years Of
Service Award

The OAAS recognizes volunteers who contribute continued years of time and energy to an Agricultural Society and whose work meets the following requirements. 

Who is Eligible?

  • An individual who has made a significant contribution as a volunteer with the Agricultural Society. 

  • Has been active in the Society through long-time involvement. 

Youth – up to 20 years of age may be recognized for five or more years of volunteer service. 
Adults – may be honoured for 10/15/20/25/30/40/ or more dedicated years of continued service.

Certificates will be forwarded to your Society for presentation at an annual event. 

Note:  For the 50/60 years and beyond of continued volunteering presentation may be made at the OAAS Annual Convention in February UPON REQUEST.  Notification for presentation at the Convention must be given to the OAAS, in writing, by January 1st.

Recipients will receive an OAAS lapel pin and a personalized OAAS certificate

Accomplishment
Award

The OAAS recognizes volunteers and individuals who contribute time, energy or resources to an Agricultural Society and whose work meets any or all of the following requirements.

Who is Eligible?

  • As a leader, volunteer, or committee member.

  • By promoting community betterment by the Agricultural Society.

  • By promoting and developing activities to encourage our youth to participate in the Agricultural Society.

  • As a friend, partner or sponsor of the local Agricultural Society.

Recipients will receive an OAAS lapel pin and a personalized OAAS ‘Accomplishment Award’ certificate.

Certificates will be forwarded to your Society for presentation at an Agricultural Society event.

Outstanding
Youth Award

The OAAS recognizes youth volunteers who contribute time energy or resources to an Agricultural Society.   It is meant to honour an individual under 21 years of age in the current year who contributes time and energy to an Agricultural Society and whose work meets all of the following requirements:

Who is Eligible?

  • A well-deserving individual who has made a significant contribution as a volunteer, leader or committee member to the Agricultural Society.

  • Meant to honour an individual, and to encourage them to continue their work with an agricultural society.

  • The youth must have a minimum of 3 years involvement with the agricultural society, and not have received the award previously.

Recipients will receive an OAAS lapel pin and a personalized OAAS ‘Outstanding Youth Recognition Award’ certificate.

Certificates will be forwarded to your Society for presentation.
