OUR STORY

For 169 years, The Spencerville Agricultural Society has served as our community’s connection between rural and urban living. We are passionate about representing and celebrating agriculture through education and teachable moments during our fair and year-round events. The purpose of our organization is to provide a space for all to foster the growth of Canadian agriculture within Eastern Ontario.

We, at the Spencerville Agricultural Society, consider ourselves strongly ingrained in our community. As such, we wish to contribute to our community’s agricultural understanding and availability of resources by bridging the gap between our community and innovative systems, new technologies, and historical practices. Furthermore, our organization is devoted to putting opportunity and meaning into the lives of our community. We accomplish this through the recruitment of volunteers, hiring local businesses, and our keen ability to recognize and support talent right here in our town. These factors not only further our organization’s success, but they also inspire compassion and togetherness among our community.

The foundation of the Spencerville Agricultural Society is built on the kindness and devotion of our volunteers. As a non-profit organization, we rely on the dedication of our local community, who work around the clock, to plan and run our year-round events that we are best known for and have come to love, including our annual Ladies’ Night, Chinese Dinner, and of course, the Spencerville Fair. In fact, our grounds are used throughout the year to promote countless agricultural shows, festivals, and much more!

This small but strong organization has a bright future ahead of it, with plans within the next decade to attract more sponsorships, attendees, and more volunteers to bring it all to life.
